Problem with a zip

I've worn these boots every day for about 6 months. They have broken in and settled really well. In terms of build quality and comfort, I'd say that they are the best boots that I have EVER purchased - apart from one thing.

I bought the boots specifically for the speed with which they could be removed, thanks to the zip. (If I need to rig in a drysuit, I *thought* I'd be able to get the boots off in seconds).

About three weeks ago, the zip started to catch when I was taking the right boot off. When I eventually managed to open the zip, I looked for signs of damage, broken or damaged zip teeth and I checked that the zip wasn't catching on the laces or leather. It was all clear with no damage.

I now find that in order to open the zip, the boot needs to be pointed toe down and the zip more or less straightened - EVENTUALLY the zip functions after multiple attempts - which is a bit awkward when you're trying to get them off in a hurry.

Apart from that - they are terrific!

working in EMS for 8 years i've worn and ruined many boots. these however seem pretty damn indestructible and are the comfiest boots i've ever worn.
worth every penny!

Best boots ever

This is my 4th pair of Haix boots and 3rd of these. I work as a landscaper so on my feet all day. I used to go though boots at a rate of 4/5 pairs a year but since going to Haix a pair can last up to 2 years. They are extremely comfortable and very hard wearing.

Incredable, worth every Penny

These boots were reccomended to me via a friend, i have been blown away by the comfort and the quality of this product.

I have only worn haix boots during my ambulance career so far, and generally I wear them for 5-6 days a week, in all conditions, they’re excellent for climbing, running and any kind of agility needed within the sector I work, they are good for making access to properties and have a full range of protection. They break in exceptionally easily, and become more comfortable than any safety boot I have ever had the pleasure of wearing.

The boots roughly last 18-24 months before irreparable damage such as splitting of the leather from the soles and issues around stitching at the seams where I have not been able to find anyone to fix them. Even the haix registered cobblers will not be able to fix. But this is down to incredibly heavy use.

Best boots you will ever buy, but get some additional gel or memory foam insoles too.

Reliable

I work in EMS and we each get issued two pairs of these boots, I've had the same boots for the last five years and they have never let me down. Very comfortable, they keep me warm and dry in any weather.

A friend told me to buy direct from haix as he bought the same boot from a third party and it seemed to be part worn. However i bought direct and am really pleased with the quality of the boot, ive been searching for a very long time for the perfect boot and found it, ya heh ! All being well ill try another spec of boot for different things in the future but ive definitely got the right boot for trucking and would reccomend it.....

The best bots ever

I have had used a number of deferred bots in past but this one is deferent I can’t even compare with other once as they are outstanding! Really comfortable, now I know I will stay with Haix

Overall tough boots

Very tough boots. I really like the zip fastening. I hope they live up to the abuse they get. Reasonably comfortable fit is as I expected. A heavy boot and seem exceptionally well made

Best Paramedic/ EMS boots

I have used these boots for years. Wearing one pair to their natural end. Sending them back to be repaired in Germany. They came back like new. I cannot as for a better product and an even better after sale service.

Great book, but it leaked,

After a lot of research and questions i decided to get the XR1. I was not sure it would do what it said on the tin but was impressed with it, until i wasn't . shipping was 4 days after ordering so not bad. the boots for in in less then a day and felt great. I can say this is the only boot that after a 12 day my foot still felt good. after 9 days I was feeling like ai made the best boot purchase ever. On the 10 day i was ready to set them on fire. Well i would have if they went soaking wet inside and out. The 10th day was the first day using them in the wet. We'll tall wet grass anyway. within an hour they were wet inside. after all day my feet were cold and soaking. Called customer service for a return as it was obvious were the water was getting in and it must have been a manufacture issue. so used the included return label and sent them back. i had to get another pair of boots to use while these ere gone so not happy. after 18 days with no word from Haix i call customer service. Yes they got the boots. Asked well when are the replacements coming. Answer there not. Me, why not. Them, let me speak to a college. Them, now you have called we will issue a refund in two weeks or so. Me, Why can't i have a replacement ? Them, You will get a refund. Me, please can i have a replacement. Them, refund in two weeks. And on and on and on it went. It was like i was not even part of the call. I mean what manufacture issues a refund then tells you you will have to order again. So if i want my boots will have to order. At the cost of these things I will have to wait for the refund. So it will be almost 5 weeks till i get my boots. Great christmas time and and will take even longer. I included a note with clear instructions and asking for a replacement. made that clear on my first call to the service team. I even included my name address, phone number and email to make sue i would get a repose. Nothing, just silence and a convoluted way of exchanging boots. I mean this is the 20th century right? So not sure when i will get my boots but do like them a lot, as long as they don't leak. I work in the power industry so need hard earring boots like these but if there wet it a no go. Heres hoping someone was listening when said no refund just send me boots.

Best work boots I've ever had

I'm a paramedic on my feet all day, these boots fit perfectly, no wearing in period. The zip feature on the front makes it easy to put on and take off. Impressed with the look, quality and finish of the boots.

Gold Standard Boots

Haix are the perfect boots for emergency services, as a paramedic comfort and stability is vital in my shoes during 12 hour shifts and these are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, the high sides make my feet feel secure so no accidental ankle rolls and the zip makes it super quick to put on. Now that I’ve worn these boots I will not wear any others!

Comfy boots

Laces took a bit of getting used to but been wearing these 12+ hours a day for last 12 days. Very comfy and waterproof

Great boots

The most comfortable and easy to put on boots I've had. I often have them as my go-to shoe for going to shop they're that nice.

The only problem is they only lasted around a year, but having said that I do use them every day from railway work.

Also probably wouldn't go as far as to say that they are 100% waterproof.

ive spent over 15yrs in the uk armed forces wearing many different makes and styles of boots and now im in the ambulance service these have got to be the best quality and comfort ive ever had the pleasure to wear

Pricey, but good

Onto my second pair of these boots. First pair lasted 18 months, I probably could have eked out a few more months- but since my knee surgery, I am much more responsive to changes in my footwear.

They have seen fairly heavy use, so not surprised they needed replacing. (Climbing in a collapsed building rig, walking a ridiculous amount of miles, through a variety of terrain, and standard ambulance work).

Easy to step in/out of, easy to clean, and entirely fit for purpose.
I am considering getting the old pair resoled to use as a spare pair.

If you can afford them, then I would recommend buying.

Brilliant!

These are my second pair of the XR1s. The first set lasted many years and were the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Light, waterproof, easy to get on and off with brilliant build quality. Recommended to several colleagues who also love their XR1s!
