HAIX
Soldiers often operate across a wide variety of terrains and need flexible footwear. The HAIX Scout Black provides a firm foothold on various surface thanks to a sole comprising a particularly hard-wearing mix of rubber and PU (polyurethane). This mix of materials and a rugged tread guarantee a secure grip, even on slippery ground. A high quality plastic/fleece insole and rubber edging also provide maximum stability. Strenuous activity during training or when on duty may bring you out in a sweat. The inlay and insole of the HAIX Scout Black reliably absorb moisture before bacteria is able to produce any unpleasant odours. A special lining around the cuff of the boot also helps to expel heat. Guaranteed dry feet Although the HAIX Scout Black is, of course, black in colour, your feet will remain pleasantly cool and dry during summer. The robust leather used in the manufacture of the boot is highly breathable. It also allows warm and damp air to be expelled whilst also reflecting the rays of the sun to prevent any overheating. The three-ply GORE-TEX ®  laminate in the boot’s inner lining is also breathable and will remove any residual sweat in an effective manner. This avoids any unpleasant build-up of moisture. Maximum protection and a high degree of comfort of wear The HAIX Scout Black offers your feet maximum protection in the heat, rain and snow. It is completely waterproof and will also shield you against the heat and the cold. You may well come into contact with hazardous liquids if you deal with machines or weapons in the course of your duty. The sole of the Scout Black is resistant against substances such as oil and petrol. Soldiering can also place an immense strain on the joints and spine. An insole and separate heel cup cushion your steps to reduce pressure on the muscles. The inlay also protects you against the potential pain caused by uneven surfaces such as roots or penetration by stones underfoot. Upper material The HAIX Scout Black is manufactured in a combination of leather and textile. The material used is around two millimetres thick and is highly breathable. It reflects the sun’s rays to prevent overheating inside the boot and will leave your feet feeling fresh, even on hot days. A quick fastening system also makes the Scout Black very easy to put on and take off. Once you have adjusted the boots to the width of your feet, you simply lace them up by pulling up the tab. Excess laces are stored in a practical separate pocket. A two-zone lacing system enables the foot and calf areas of the boot to be adjusted to different tightnesses in order to provide a perfect individual fit. Lining, inlays, heel cup The HAIX Scout Black features an inner lining made of abrasion-resistant fabric. A three-ply GORE-TEX ® laminate keeps it both waterproof and highly breathable. Moisture cannot penetrate, whilst warm and damp air is expelled at the same time. A separate heel cup and an insole cushion your steps as you go to decrease pressure on the joints and spine. The sole of the boot absorbs moisture before bacteria is able to produce any unpleasant odours. The inlay can be removed and washed if required. A special micro-dry lining around the cuff helps to expel any dampness, and a stable plastic/fleece insole integrated into the boot keeps your feet dry by also assisting with the moisture absorption process. The latter reduces discomfort from individual pressure points created when, for example, you step on stones or roots. In addition, the plastic/fleece insole offers a high degree of torsion resistance. This means that it will not bend and will give you extra stability to ensure safe passage across snow, rubble and ice. Sole The outsole of the HAIX Scout Black comprises a hard-wearing mix of rubber and PU (polyurethane). This guarantees a particularly long product life. A deep tread makes the sole completely slip resistant. The rubber used in its manufacture is also colour fast and will not leave any black marks on light-coloured floors. Rubber edging gives additional stability. The outsole of the Scout Black is antistatic and protects your feet against oil and petrol. It also insulates against the cold and against heat up to a temperature of 300 °C. The Scout Black is the perfect military boot. It is a comfortable option which reduces pressure on your joints by cushioning your steps. Water, heat and cold cannot come into contact with your feet. The sole is also highly resistant against hazardous materials such as oil and petrol. Order the HAIX Scout Black now.

Your questions,
our honest answers

The Scout black has been tested according to the standard DGUV 112-191 (BGR 191) and is therefore approved for orthopaedic insoles.

This allows the Scout black to be adapted even more optimally to the foot and to support its anatomical structure.

The Scout black is an all-season model, so it can be worn in both summer and winter. The shoe is breathable and waterproof thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane and with the help of our Sun Reflect System, it deflects sunlight so that heating can be minimised.

Be well equipped all year round with the Scout black.

Thanks to the two-zone lacing of the Scout black, the lacing can be quickly fixed and the shoe can be optimally adjusted to the foot. The lacing is first adjusted and fixed in the instep area and can then be variably adjusted in the shaft area. This combination provides support and stability.

The Scout black can be put on and taken off quickly and easily, so that the focus can be fully on the work.

On the one hand, the Scout black is suitable for hiking thanks to the torsionally stiff, well-cushioned and non-slip Vibram sole which provides stability, wearing comfort and safety. It is also waterproof and breathable thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane.

Particularly popular for easy to moderate hikes.

The Scout black can be cared for quickly and easily. With black shoe polish, which does not impair the breathability of the leather, and a waterproofing agent, the shoe is ready for any weather. For this model, we especially recommend our black shoe polish, which contains Sun Reflect pigments. This minimises the heating of the shoe by 20%.

The uncomplicated care of the Scout black ensures long-lasting enjoyment of the shoe's quality.

From experience, the Scout black tends to run smaller. We therefore recommend chooding one size larger.

Expreience has shown that the shoe runs one size smaller.

You can find all the right spare parts for our shoes on our spare parts page.

We produce in a UK shoe size system. The distance between our half UK sizes is only a few millimetres. This makes it more likely to find exactly the right shoe length.

Half UK sizes differ in length by only a few millimetres.

You can simply wash the dirty shoes with water and a brush. Please do not dry the wet shoes (even if they are wet on the inside) on an open fire, a hot stove or a heater. This will change the shape of the shoe. Simply remove the footbed and stuff the shoes with newspaper or use a shoe tree. Then allow the shoes to air dry slowly. We recommend washing the footbed regularly at 30°. In general, it is best to remove the footbed from the shoes after every wear to ensure optimal re-drying.

Simply clean it with a brush and water and let it air dry.

Best boots i had

Work as EMT, in mediterranian country, wear the daily for 8 to 12 hours.
They are overall the best pair of boots i had-I wore 5.11 XPRT, Bellevile full leather (old model), but Haix Scout beats them all.
They had a break in leriod for about two weeks, but after that they sat very comfortable.
Conditions of use:
In my country, the tempretature gets 10-18 celcius at winter time, and at summer peaks to 35-40 celcius. Some of those summer days they are a bit hot, due to goretex, but i knew what i was getting, so it is definetly not a con for me - in colder tempreatures, those boots perform extremely well, and when used with thermolite socks - even ideal.
Waterproofing is descent - continuos hikes in heavy rain, or prolongued standing in deep puddles will get your feet wet, but those are extremes, and in more moderate and common wetness conditions-showers, in-out puddle step-ins, Scouts kept my feet dry. Once, a month after purchase, i had to stand for 15 minutes in a puddle of water during an extrications, amd not a drop entered.
Fitting - extremely accurate. Thise are true to size. Mind though, that if you use some orthopedic special insoles, especially the ones with hard shell and arch support, concider getting one size up.
